The Glass Room began as a large-scale exhibition which traveled from Berlin to London, New York and San Francisco from 2016-2019. Resembling a sleek tech stop where nothing was for sale, visitors found themselves immersed in stories about their societies, relationships and the businesses behind the technologies which were so personally embedded in their lives. A growing desire for public interventions and critical information about technology led Tactical Tech to design the Glass Room Community Edition – a lightweight, pop-up exhibition that can be self-hosted in community spaces, schools, libraries and festival all over the world.
With one third of the world’s internet users being young people, Tactical Tech’s youth and technology initiative was launched to fill an increasing demand for creative and engaging education resources which speak critically about technologies impact on society. What the Future Wants was launched in XXX, it is an easy-to-print exhibition which touches on big tech, the environmental impact of technology, design tricks and surveillance.
